Google got one more victory in a landmark legal battle over Google Books. The Authors Guild which sued Google over copyright stated on Twitter they will appeal against the ruling.
It’s idiotic in the twenty-first century to even talk about this. By making access easier to searching through different books, the books and authors get publicized. Making couple of chapters visible will only encourage users to buy that book.
Plus any author should encourage the public coverage of it’s book with or without their consent in scanning the book. How will people learn something new if they never find it?
